Peab builds extension of Uppsala City Hall

Peab has been commissioned to renovate and extend Uppsala City Hall. The customer is Uppsala municipality’s Förvaltningsfastigheter AB and the contract is worth SEK 840 million.

The entire project consists of 27,000 m2 in floor space, of which 14,000 m2 is new construction. It also includes preparation of an open air public area of 7,000 m2.

The new City Hall will contain exhibitions, a contact center, reception, conference center, restaurant, café and more.

Construction will be aimed at certifying the renovated section and extension of the City Hall according to BREEAM on class level Excellent.

The commission is a turnkey contract in partnering. Construction has begun and is expected to be completed in August 2021.

The project will be order registered in the first quarter of 2018.
