Peab builds Flygplatsvägen in Sälen

Peab has been commissioned to build a new section of highway 1053, Flygplatsvägen, outside Rörbäcksnäs in Malung-Sälen Municipality. The customer is the Swedish Transport Administration and the contract is worth SEK 117 million.

The new road will have two lanes, be six kilometers long and a total of eight meters wide. Peab will also build two bridges, a control area with parking spaces and roundabout just southwest of the planned airport.

“We are working on construction of Sälen’s new airport to the fullest and are very pleased to have also received an order for the new road to it. The airport will open the door for more tourism, which will promote growth and development in the area,” says Jörgen Eriksson, Region Manager at Peab.

The project is a traditional contract and construction will begin in December 2018. It is expected to be completed by the end of 2020.

The project will be order registered in the fourth quarter of 2018.
