Peab signs new blanket contract with federal Specialfastigheter

Peab has signed a nationwide blanket contract that covers construction contract work in major new construction, renovation and extension projects for federal Specialfastigheter.

Peab is thereby one of a few select construction companies to sign a contract. It covers construction projects worth more than SEK 100 million within Specialfastigheters’ existing property stock and any new establishments in Sweden. It runs for seven years. Peab already has a contract with Specialfastigheter for smaller construction projects.

Security has top priority in federal Specialfastigheter with buildings such as penitentiaries, courthouses, nursing homes and defense bases. All its properties are suited to operations with high security demands in the form of operations, personal, information and physical security.

The procurement had high security and protection demands and required substantial experience in carrying out projects in locations where operations are open 365 days a year, often 24/7. A couple of the evaluation criteria concerned cost-efficiency and risk and opportunity management regarding costs and quality.

“Specialfastigheter requires that we as suppliers share their high values on sustainability. Peab works actively with all three sustainable aspects, i.e. environmental, economic and social sustainability, and our broad expertise and experience combined with being represented all over the country contributed to our winning the contract,” says Anders Bergeling, Region Manager Peab.

“We share Specialfastigheters desire for a well-organized and trusting collaboration to reach our common goals and we are extremely proud to have received this show of confidence,” says Stefan Danielsson, Business Area Manager Peab.

The blanket contract runs initially for two years but can be extended for another two plus three years.
