Peab builds waste rock transport out facility in Kiruna

Peab has been commissioned to build a new waste rock transport out facility for LKAB’s sorting plant in Kiruna. The customer is LKAB and the contract is worth SEK 125 million.

The new facility will have a capacity level of 35 tons annually as well as improve the work environment in the plant. Construction will mostly take place while the plant is in operation and the facility will be connected during a planned stop in operations.

The project is a turnkey contract in partnership and construction will begin in February 2019. It is expected to be completed in September 2020.

The project will be order registered in the first quarter of 2019.
