Peab acquires cement and mineral aggregate operations in Luleå

Peab’s subsidiary Swerock continues to grow through the acquisition of cement and mineral aggregate operations in the Luleå area. The acquired operations had net sales of around SEK 60 million in 2020 and four employees.

Swerock acquired two quarries and a cement factory in the Luleå area as well as some vehicles and machines from Snells. The acquisition strengthens Peab there and entails synergies for both Swerock and Peab Asfalt. Swerock already has a centrally located quarry in Luleå. Peab Asfalt, a sister company to Swerock in the Peab Group, manufactures asphalt in this quarry.

“With this acquisition we gain four new employees and strengthen Peab’s market position in asphalt, mineral aggregates and cement in Norrland. We also create conditions for developing Recycling in which recycled material goes back into manufacturing new products,” says Patrik Silfvernagel, Region Manager Norrland, Swerock and Peab Asfalt.

The operations were taken over on January 4, 2021.
