Peab has been commissioned to build 149 rental apartments, ground floor commercial space and a garage in Skeppsbron in central Jönköping. The customer is HSB Göta. The project is a traditional contract worth SEK 221 million.
Block 8, which the contract is for, will consist of three buildings and is located right in the middle of the southern part of Skeppsbron between Kämpe Avenue and the new Oskarshall Street. The facades will mainly consist of brick in warm nuances and 60 of the 149 apartments will be part of the assisted living facility Parketten.
The apartments will come in varying sizes, from one to four bedroom, but the majority will be two bedroom. The garage will have room for 60 cars and there will be 285 bicycle stands built connecting to the buildings.
The entire area will be built according to the criteria for Miljöbyggnad, level Silver, with a strong focus on sustainability and the environment, in part due to the use of concrete that reduces carbon dioxide emissions. Several of the parking spaces in the garage will have chargers for electric vehicles. The building will be furnished with solar panels on the roofs and rainwater will be reused to water all the plants in the inner courtyard. The block will also have spacious recycling centers so that residents can easily sort at source.
In addition to the apartments Peab will build rooms for package deliveries, a bakery/café and a beauty parlor for skin and hair care.
“We’re grateful to have been entrusted with building Block 8 for HSB Göta. On top of that the pervading climate and environmental mindset in the project is right in line with our goals at Peab,” says Anders Bergeling, Region Manager Peab.
HSB Gambrinus, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of HSB Göta, is the real estate owner and manages the apartments.
“Block 8 will be the first of four blocks built in Skeppsbron by HSB Göta. All the apartments on this property are rentals, which there is a real shortage of in central Jönköping. We’re very pleased that we can offer a large number of these apartments in the form of assisted living. We’re also proud to be able to build up a property like this and keep it in own portfolio,” says Mikael Carlson, Property Manager at HSB Gambrinus.
Construction will start in June 2021 and the project is expected to be complete in November 2023.
The project will be order registered in the first quarter 2021.
