Peab has been commissioned to renovate and rebuild the southern part of Kvarteret Sperlingens Backe at Stureplan in central Stockholm. The customer is Sturegallerian AB and the contract amounts to approximately SEK 2 billion.

The assignment is a collaborative contract that comprises a total of approximately 48,000 square meters of the Sture area. The plan includes renovations and re-creation of older buildings, new offices, housing and openings of more public spaces, as well as a new connection to Östermalmstorg metro station. The entire project will have the highest sustainability certification LEED Platinum.

“This is a very unique project with an extensive sustainability approach, where Peab with its knowledge can add a lot. As the Nordic community builder, it is an honour to be involved in modernising such a central neighbourhood in the heart of Stockholm", says Stefan Danielsson, Manager Business area Construction at Peab.

“We’re glad to have Peab onboard in this exciting project, and are looking forward to a close collaboration in developing Sturekvarteret during the coming years”, says Andreas Philipson, Project Director Sturegallerian AB.

Work will begin immediately and is expected to be completed in 2026.

The project will be order registered in the third quarter of 2022.
