Peab has been commissioned to build a new main water line in Lillestrøm. The customer is Nedre Romerike Vann- og Avløpsselskap and the contract is worth NOK 144 million.
The project includes building a new 3.3 kilometer main water line between Tomtveien and Isakbekken, north of Lillestrøm and laying down signal cables and conduits. Tunneling with concrete pipes past one of Norway’s most trafficked bus stations was chosen as the construction method instead of traditional digging. Considerable resources have also been invested to reduce the impact on cultivated land.
“We’re very happy for the opportunity to carry out this important project. A well-functioning water and wastewater network is vital to residents in the area. This kind of project is a good fit for us and we look forward to carrying it out efficiently, safely and sustainably,” says Erik Hedvald Nilsen, MD of Peab’s subsidiary Arne Olav Lund responsible for the work.
The project will be run as a partnership construction contract in close cooperation with consultants and the customer. Construction will begin immediately and is expected to be completed in the spring of 2025.
The project will be order registered in the fourth quarter 2023.
