Peab has been commissioned to build a K-6 school in Burlöv. The customer is Burlöv Municipality and the contract is worth SEK 374 million.
The school will be located between Arlöv and Åkarp. The total area will be approximately 14,000 m2 on two floors with an integrated sports hall. Part of the building will have three floors where the municipality has planned for a large auditorium and adjoining meeting rooms. The school has a unique design inside and out including an accessible roof equipped with walkways, lots of greenery, a wooden slat facade and an indoor environment that stimulates activity. The building will be built according to Miljöbyggnad Silver 4.0.
“This is a vital investment in the future of the residents of Arlöv and we’re proud to be able to contribute with our expertise. This is a very important project for us as a community builder,” says Olle Olsson, Region Manager Peab.
The project is a turnkey contract in partnership. Preparatory work started in the spring of 2024 and the school is expected to be ready by the autumn term of 2026. This construction contract was preceded by a so-called phase 1 contract where Peab was contracted to map out an optimized product with the right quality as well as handling risks and uncertainties together with the customer. The project is now entering phase 2 which involves signing a construction contract.
The project was order registered in the second quarter 2024.
