Peab builds mobility building in Sundsvall

Peab has been commissioned to build a new mobility building with parking spaces in Sundsvall. The customer is Urban Hub AB and the contract is worth SEK 109 million.

The new mobility building will be eight stories high and be built over an existing service tunnel connected to the nearby wastewater treatment plant. This requires taking a great deal consideration during construction and puts high demands on the groundwork. The building will have parking spaces for cars and charging stations for electric vehicles.

"I think it’s great that Peab will be part of the urban development in this wonderful area of Norra Kajen in Sundsvall. Working together with Urban Hub with our local workforce to create a modern mobility building fits in well with our work to improve everyday life where we live and work," says Fredrik Timan, Region Manager Peab.

"I'm pleased to be able to work with Sundsvall Municipality and Peab to create a hub for parking and mobility in Norra Kajen. The mobility building will be prepared for a sustainable future and is right in line with our overall vision of a vibrant, modern and fossil-free society," says Christofer Kraft, CEO of Urban Hub.

The project is a turnkey contract. Construction will start in the autumn of 2024 and is expected to be completed in the spring of 2026.

The project will be order registered in the third quarter 2024.
