Peab builds extension to school in Hjärup

Peab has been commissioned to build an extension to Hjärupslund School in Hjärup. The customer is Staffanstorps kommunfastigheter AB and the contract is worth SEK 109 million.

The extension includes a new cafeteria, depot and classrooms as well as a new sports hall. The total area of the project is approximately 4,200 m2.

"This is an important investment for the future and young people in Hjärup. We look forward to continuing to contribute our expertise to the project. Building schools is an important community project for us," says Olle Olsson, Region Manager Peab.

"We’re very pleased to be taking the next step in the development of Hjärupslund School together with our contractor. This project is vital to ensuring the school can meet the future needs of the community," says Ludvig Nilsson, Project Manager in Staffanstorp Municipality.

This construction contract was preceded by a so-called phase 1 contract whereby Peab is contracted to work with the customer to map out an optimized product with the right quality and to manage risks and uncertainties. The project is now entering phase 2, which is the implementation phase.

The project is a turnkey contract in collaboration. The project has begun and is expected to be completed in the winter of 2026.

The project will be order registered in the first quarter 2025.
