Peab has been commissioned to build new test facilities and offices in Örnsköldsvik. The customer is BAE Systems Hägglunds and the contract is worth SEK 280 million.

BAE Systems Hägglunds is a global player in the defense industry. The company's local connection goes back over 100 years and today it is one of the largest employers in the municipality. The company's operations are developing and expanding to meet an increasing level of orders.

"It feels really good that we have been entrusted with building the new premises needed to meetf the higher demand that BAE Systems Hägglunds is experiencing. We have solid expertise in industrial construction and security-classified construction projects," says Anders Gard, CEO of Peab Industribyggnad i norr AB.

The contract includes options for call-offs for another SEK 330 million in addition to the contract amount of SEK 280 million.

This construction contract was preceded by a so-called phase 1 contract whereby Peab is contracted to work with the customer to map out an optimized project with the right quality and to manage risks and uncertainties. The project is now entering phase 2, which entails signing a construction contract.

The project is a turnkey contract in partnership. Construction will start in the spring of 2025 and is expected to be completed in the autumn of 2026.

The project will be order registered in the first quarter 2025.
